About the AgriWater Lesson Plan Writer

Rich Engel, M.A.

Rich Engel is a Curriculum and County Program Coordinator for California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom. He holds a Bachelors Degree and Teaching Credential in Agricultural Education from U.C. Davis and a Master of Arts Degree in Education and Curriculum and Instruction from Cal State, Sacramento. He is a former high school agriculture instructor and FFA advisor. As a former Project Manager for the Bureau of Reclamation, Model Farm Program, Rich worked with farmers, ranchers and agencies to develop farm efficiency demonstration sites in the areas of water usage, pesticide and fertilizer applications, energy usage and implementation of conservation practices.

Rich wrote an article titled "Establishment of On-Farm Native Plant Vegetation Areas to Enhance Biodiersity within Intensive Farming Systems of the Sacramento Valley" which was published in Proceedings of Environmental Enhancement Through Agricluture Conference, Tufts University, 1995.
