Directions: Hwy. 24 to the Orinda Village exit; Head northwest on Camino Pablo; make first right at light at Shell station, followed by an immediate left onto Orinda Way; pass community center on right; make a right on Irwin Way. Library is first drive on right, corner of Irwin Way and Orinda Way.

Description: This award-winning garden showcases plants that are both waterwise and deer resistant. The garden is seen by 300-500 people each day the library is open. The garden is an educational tool used by the local community and EBMUD. The garden's success is the result of a partnership between the water district (EBMUD) and the community and demonstrates waterwise landscape and irrigation design.

Features: Awarded the AnnLyon Crammond Award; awarded "outstanding achievement in environmental enhancement" by the Mount Diablo Silverado Council Boy Scouts.
