2008 CALFED Water Use Efficiency
Grant Program
The Mid-Pacific
Region of Reclamation is posting a Request
for Applications (RFA) for water use
efficiency and conservation activities. The
objective of the CALFED Water Use Efficiency
Grant Program is to promote the goals, objectives,
and missions of CALFED. To be eligible
for financial assistance, a proposed activity
must have a defined relationship to the California
Bay-Delta.
Reclamation has
approximately $1.5 million available
to agricultural and urban entities for
the encouragement of water use efficiency
and conservation activities. Reclamation
can fund up to 50% of approved projects,
not to exceed $300,000.
Previously,
Reclamation and the California Department
of Water Resources (DWR) announced
that Reclamation’s
CALFED Water Use Efficiency Grant Program
would be advertised in cooperation with
DWR’s Proposition 50 Water Use
Efficiency Program. Due to time limitations
for funding distributions and contract
awards, Reclamation regrets to inform
applicants that federal funds will not
be advertised through DWR, and entities
cannot apply for Federal funds through
DWR’s Proposition 50 Water Use
Efficiency Program. To apply for Reclamation’s
2008 CALFED Water Use Efficiency Grant
Program, an agency or district must do
so directly through Reclamation’s
Request for Funding Opportunity (RFO)
