Project Status Updates for Water Users

Reclamation has been providing periodic project status updates (briefings) to Central Valley Project (CVP) customers at CVP Financial Affairs Committee (FAC) meetings. The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) has been providing updates to the State Water Project (SWP) customers. Reclamation and DWR are now proposing to provide joint briefings to CVP and SWP customers. The first of these joint briefings is scheduled for April 15, 2009 at DWR’s downtown office (Room 1131, Resources Bldg), from 1000am-1100am. There will be a conference call-in phone number provided for those unable to attend.

It is anticipated that a briefing would be provided every 2-3 months, alternating sites between DWR’s office and Reclamation’s Sacramento Regional Office on Cottage Way. The project status updates held at Reclamation’s offices would most likely be held in conjunction with scheduled CVP FAC meetings. These briefings would be scheduled to start ½ hour before the CVP FAC meeting and Reclamation would provide a conference call-in phone.

Reclamation and DWR intend to notify water users of upcoming briefings via email. For this first meeting, email notifications would probably go out by March 27th. If your organization is not already on the notification list, please contact the officials list below:

SWP: David Panec, dpanec@water.ca.gov
CVP: Doug McElhinney, dmcelhinney@usbr.gov
