New Melones Resource Management Plan/Environmental Impact Statement (RMP/EIS)

Summary:
The purpose of the RMP is to develop a framework for long-term management of recreation facilities and adjacent lands at New Melones Reservoir. This integrated RMP/EIS document will reflect contemporary resources and recreation needs for the New Melones Lake Area, while ensuring that the Eastside Division of the Central Valley Project continues to meet its authorized purposes of flood control, water supply, power recreation, water quality and fish and wildlife enhancement. The RMP/EIS shall serve as the basis for future resource management decision-making that, when implemented, may result in the desired future condition for the management area.

Status:
10/30/2009:
Notice of Intent was published in December 18, 2006. Scoping Meetings held in January 2007. Scoping comment period originally ended on February 18, 2007 but was extended to March 19, 2007. Preliminary Draft RMP/EIS sections were available for review in September 2008. Draft RMP/EIS available for review on October 30, 2009. Open houses scheduled on December 2, 2009 in Sonora. Comments due January 4, 2010.
