Shasta Lake Water Resources Investigation EIS

Summary:
Reclamation is conducting a feasibility study including preparation of a decision document and environmental impact statement for the Shasta Lake Water Resources Investigation. Studies to date have focused on identifying water resources problems and needs, developing a set of planning objectives, and formulating alternatives. The alternative plans include enlarging Shasta Dam from 6.5 feet, 12.5 feet, and 18.5 primarily for increasing anadromous fish survival and water supply reliability.

02/09/2012:
NOI published 10/7/05. Environmental scoping meetings were completed (in October/November 2005) for public input on scope, alternatives, and issues to be addressed in the draft EIS. The draft feasibility report/EIS is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2014. The final feasibility report/EIS is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2016.
