Title:
Water Transfers for the San Luis & Delta-Mendota Water Authority in 2014
Site:
Summary:
The San Luis & Delta-Mendota Water Authority (SLDMWA) and its Participating Members will experience severe water shortages in 2014 and are soliciting willing sellers to transfer water. A number of entities upstream from the Delta have expressed interest in transferring water to the Participating Members of the SLDMWA. The SLDMWA would negotiate with these sellers, on behalf of the Participating Members, to identify potential transfers and the specifics of each transfer arrangement, which, collectively, constitute the "proposed project" addressed in the Initial Study. Transfers would be from willing sellers in the Sacramento Valley to buyers in the San Joaquin Valley and Santa Clara Valley.

Status:
10/03/2014:
Draft EA completed. Comments were due April 2, 2014. Final EA completed April 14, 2014. FONSI signed on April 22, 2014. Due to continued drought conditions, Reclamation was unable to deliver transfer water south of the Delta during the transfer period described in the original EA, and the EA was revised to include delivering water south of the Delta in October through November 15. The Revised EA and Revised FONSI were completed on October 3, 2014.
