Shasta Lake: National Public Lands Day Activity
To support National Public Lands Day Reclamation’s Northern California Area Office and the National Forest Service sponsored a clean-up event at Fishermen's Point Day Use Area, northeast of Shasta Dam, on September 26, 2009.
The 42 volunteers from the Boy Scouts of America and the local community joined together and removed over 1/2 ton of weeds and brush and maintained over a mile of trail, did shore clean up along a stretch of Shasta Lake, painted picnic tables and a barrier wall, putting down 20 yards of River Cobble and picked up litter from the popular day use area.
Everyone who participated received a t-shirt and enjoyed a barbeque lunch after the hard work was completed.
