New Melones: National Public Lands Day Activity
The Bureau of Reclamation’s Central California Area Office, in partnership with New Melones Lake Water Skiers, Inc., and the New Melones Lake Marina, hosted a National Public Lands Day event on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at New Melones Lake.
The twenty four participating volunteers braved the 102 degree weather to collect approximately 400 pounds of trash from the shoreline and recreation areas around the Lake.
Refreshments were enjoyed by all after the event and prizes for the funniest, most outrageous, and most nostalgic pieces of trash were awarded.
