Shasta Lake C.A.S.T. for Kids Event - June 19, 2010
On Saturday, June 19, 2010, many memories were made at the eleventh annual C.A.S.T. For Kids Event at Shasta Lake. The event was a huge success thanks to all the wonderful volunteers and our community. This year 60 special needs and disadvantaged kids got to…
Catch A Special Thrill. There were five fishing clubs with 32 boats plus the huge patio boat from Lake Shasta Caverns, the Cavern Queen, which took the children and their parents or guardians out for a morning of fishing on beautiful Shasta Lake in Northern, California. Many of the kids came back with some huge fish!
This year the CAST For Kids Foundation’s National Program Director Art Pasley came all the way out from Dallas, Texas, to be a part of the Shasta Lake event. He was so impressed by all the support from the Northern California Area Office (NCAO)for this special day. The Northern California Area Office rocks!!!
Without the help of the whole community, the fishermen and their boats, and all the fantastic volunteers this day would not happen. The weather was perfect, the lake is full, the smiles were everywhere, and the fish stories were getting bigger by the minute. Above all… everyone is looking forward to doing it all again next year!
