The mission of the Bureau of Reclamation is to manage, develop, and protect water and related resources in an environmentally and economically sound manner in the interest of the American public.

The mission of the American River Water Education Center is to increase the public’s knowledge of the watershed – both the natural features and human interactions within the watershed. Emphasis is placed on increasing the public’s understanding of the water cycle and watersheds, and on how individuals can actively participate in resource conservation and on Folsom Dam’s multiple roles in meeting the needs of urban, industrial, agricultural and natural systems.

We thank our volunteers.  We could not reach out to students and teach them the importance of water without them and their dedication.

Volunteers and staff enjoy a potluck get together in their honor.

Not only do our volunteers  teach students  about our own watershed, they live it as they take on a vigorous hike down the trail to Natural Bridge.

Volunteers and staff agree.  “It was worth the hike”.  The Stanislaus River  was refreshing and the limestone cavern/tunnel was a sight to see.

Way to go gang!  Thank you all for another fabulous year of volunteering, wisdom and friendship.  You are all our “super stars”!
