Hazardous Materials and
Environmental Management System
Reclamation's Lower Colorado Region HazMat Office provides technical and regulatory expertise and coordination for a number of programs concerning air and water quality, emergency response, hazardous waste disposal, and occupational safety and health.
Services we provide:
- Responding and cleaning-up of toxic spills on the lower Colorado River, Reclamation property, and other locations within Lower Colorado Region boundaries
- Assisting in maintaining standards established in federal, state and local environment regulations,
- Coordinating and overseeing Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) requirements as required by environmental laws, and
- Auditing Reclamation programs for environmental compliance.

Through use of a comprehensive Environmental Management System (as set forth in Executive Order 13423) to ensure effective environmental stewardship, this office also enhances the Region's sustainability, recycling, and energy management goals and objectives.
