Pallid Sturgeon
The Pallid Sturgeon (Scaphirhynchus albus) is one of the largest fish found in the Missouri-Mississippi River drainage, weighing up to 85 lbs. The Pallid Sturgeon is a Federally Endangered species.

Additional Information: Public Law 111-291 authorized funding to construct a MR&I water system on the Crow Indian Reservation. In order to facilitate the construction and design of the MR&I water system, the Crow Tribe is proposing to conduct a three month pilot plant study. The Crow Tribe has contracted with Bartlett & West to prepare an Environmental Assessment to evaluate the proposed pilot study. The Draft EA is now available for public comment. Additional Information: This SEIS is being prepared in response to a District Court order remand of previous NEPA completed. The proposed action is to complete the construction of this municipal, rural and industrial water supply project which began in 2002 and then was challenged by the Province of Manitoba, Canada in the U.S. District Court. The communities and rural water systems within northwestern North Dakota face water quality and/or quantity concerns. The alternatives are being evaluated which would provide a reliable, high quality water supply for this area of North Dakota.
