Join me as we explore the Lamb Quarry, a historic sandstone quarry that we discovered at the north end of Horsetooth Reservoir. The quarry was opened about 1905, on land that was homesteaded by Eugene Lamb. The hundreds of artifacts that were recovered from the site suggest that workers there focused on industrial activities — and brought their lunch to work with them! How do you think we figured that out?

Come along with me as we search for the historic town of Stout. People say that you can see foundations from the town when the water in the reservoir is low. Is this really true? Follow along as we retrace the steps we took to find out where the town of Stout was and whether anything is really left of it under Horsetooth Reservoir.

Archeologists rely on people's trash to solve the mystery of a site. We are crime scene investigators for the past. No crime has been committed, but we piece together clues and solve a case. I would like to take you on a tour of a trash dump site at Horsetooth Reservoir and show you what we found, what it means, and how we figured it out.
