| As requested by the 7/25/08 memo, I have reviewed the communication plan concept and offer the following: 1. How/will this be intergrated with the Final Design Process guidelines? If it won't, will there be some sort of cross-reference so folks will remember about this? 2. I'm generally concerned that this creates another layer/requirement which will add to the time needed to get a job started. 3. Term "project leader" is used which I'm not familar w/ (cross between a project manager and team leader?). Please clarify. 4. Term "design activity plan" is used which I'm not familar with. Is this the same as a project management plan (PMP) or something else? Please clarify. 5. Concurrance signature of stakeholders needed on the communication plan could stop or significantly delay getting a job started. Presently, there are numerous examples of PMPs, dec. doc, etc. that are circulated for signatures which take weeks and in some cases months to get signed. So now we have another doc that requires signatures from more/different folks? I would suggest that this "communciation plan" be part of the PMP and not require separate signatures. |
