Design, Estimating, and Construction Oversight and Dam Safety Officer

This office provides oversight associated with design, estimating and construction (DEC) activities as they are being formulated and prepared to ensure executive-level management decisions and products are technically sound at the project and corporate levels.
This office serves as the principle advisor on the implementation of the Federal Guidelines for Dam Safety, serves as Reclamation’s Dam Safety Officer providing broad program guidance and the audit function of Reclamation’s Dam Safety Program, and serves as the DOI representative to the National Dam Safety Review Board. This office advises and represents the Commissioner and Assistant Secretary-Water and Science on dam safety issues.
